200-HOUR TEACHER TRAINING
FREE 200-Hr. Teacher Training Meeting Sunday, Oct. 19th, 7-8 p.m.!
Thursdays
January 7, 2021 – June 10, 2021!
“be in the moment”
Our 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training is nationally accredited by Yoga Alliance and has been proven to be one of the most creative and comprehensive in the state of Indiana. We go above and beyond the minimal national standards, giving our trainees the ability to implement their creativity by sequencing a yoga class they can call their own. Our students not only learn the basics of how to develop safe yoga sequencing, but also learn how to sequence according to one’s nature during different seasons, affecting mood and overall health.
Our teachers offer classes based on the foundational teachings of Krishnamacharyia’s Vini-Yoga, Iyengar, Anusara & Ashtanga Yoga, which are all based on Hatha yoga. This program is directed by Chris Yovanovich, proprietor of the Indiana Yoga Studio and its senior teacher. She has been developing and teaching 200 and 300-Hr. advanced yoga teacher trainings full time over the past 13 years. She has graduated over 170 talented yoga teachers in the state of Indiana in several yoga studios and Butler University. Chris also serves as adjunct professor at Christian Theological Seminary assisting Dr. Helene Russell teach their 200-Hr. Teacher Training, ‘Yoga and Spirituality’.
Our staff lovingly directs our students one simple step at a time. It is a journey as unique as each individual. We simply serve as a field guide, respecting where each student is on their path of learning. While we realize we are all connected, we also know that we all learn differently and have different paths by which we fully develop. It is for these reasons that we use many modalities of learning. Reading, discussion, art, music, humor, movies, dance, field trips and journaling are just some of the activities students enjoy during their training. There are a total of 5 senior guest speakers throughout the semester that have taught nationally and globally. It is our passion to allow students to not only learn about the deeper aspects of yoga but to experience it for themselves! Students have the entire course available online for those wishing to quarantine. All online course content is available to all students whether they are taking the course online or in person. A total of 8 spaces will be available for in person instruction.
COVID-19 precautions set forth by Gov. Holcomb is observed.
